Pickering, the polls are open.
It's time to decide what kind of City Hall you want for the next four years.
I'm not a career politician. I've called Pickering home for 29 years, and I built my business, Home Doctor, from the ground up right here over the past 15. For years before this campaign, I sat in Council chambers holding the City and the Mayor to account. I led the community fight against the two condo towers, and we won.
I've stood up for Frenchman's Bay, our waterfront and our greenspaces long before anyone asked for my vote, and as Mayor I'll keep fighting to protect them from overdevelopment.
Here's what your vote for me means
- Day one: a cap on the City's portion of your property taxes, with a 0% increase in my first budget, after Mayor Ashe's budgets raised your total bill more than 9% in two years.
- An independent forensic audit of City spending, developer agreements and legal costs within my first 100 days.
- Plain-language budgets, so you can see where every dollar goes.
- Growth pays for growth. New development, not existing taxpayers, covers its own costs, and density goes to the 401 corridor, not our established neighbourhoods.
- Frenchman's Bay, our waterfront and our greenspaces kept public and protected, with no high-density housing on our shoreline.
- City Hall reopened to residents, with in-person Council meetings and full public delegations restored.
- Real action on community safety and homelessness, working directly with Durham Regional Police and our partners.
- No campaign money from developers, contractors or union reps. My campaign is funded by me and by residents.
Thank you to every volunteer, every sign host and every resident who opened their door, sent a message or challenged me with a tough question. You've made this campaign what it is.
